Geochemical characteristics and metallogenic prospective prognosis of Atico region in Arequipa Province, Peru, based on stream sediment survey

  • The study of geochemical features of Atico region in southern Peru was based on the 1:100 000 stream sediment survey. Through a study of the element distribution, element correlation, element anomalies and element anomaly assemblage, combined with the ore-forming geological conditions, the authors divided the study area into Azucar, Cerro Viejo, Pampa and Calaparca metallogenic prospective areas. The results obtained by the authors can play an important guiding role in further ore-prospecting work.
