Research on Dynamic Changes and Driving Factors of Landscape Pattern in Hubei Province Based on Multi-source Spatiotemporal Data

  • In order to explore the characteristics and driving factors of landscape pattern change in Hubei Province, this paper selects five periods of the land use and cover change(LUCC) data from Hubei Province from 2000 to 2018 for analysis, and discusses its driving factors by principal component analysis. The results show that from 2000 to 2018, the area of cultivated land, forest land, grassland, and unutilized land in Hubei Province decreased to varying degrees, with the most significant change occurring in cultivated land, which is 4322 km2, and the construction land and water area showed an increasing trend. At the landscape level, the degree of landscape fragmentation in Hubei Province increased from 2000 to 2018, and the Shannon Diversity Index (SHDI) and Shannon Uniformity Index (SHEI) both showed an upward trend, indicating that the diversity of different landscape types gradually increased and the landscape heterogeneity increased. The landscape pattern change in the study area was jointly affected by natural and human factors, and demographic and economic factors were the main driving factors for the landscape pattern change in Hubei Province from 2000 to 2018.
