The exploration and development of lithium is attracting global attention for its extensive applications as an energy metal. Restricted by the resources reserves and technology, the situation of monopoly would be more intense. In this paper, the distribution of lithium energy resources, the development status and the main production technology were analyzed. The development trend of domestic lithium resources was discussed. Considering the complex components, the high ratio of Mg/Li and the extraction technology of the lithium minerals, some suggestions were given on how to improve the utilization level of domestic resources and strengthen the R & D of lithium resources in order to enhance the continuous development level of China's lithium industry andmaintain the healthy development of domestic lithium industrythus to improve the international competitiveness.
