Application of Tungsten Tailings in Cement Mortar

  • Taking tungsten tailings as a raw materials for cement could not only effectively use dressing wastes but also ease the supply tensions of cement. Taking the tungsten tailings in Hunan Province as the research object, which were activated by mechanical and chemical methods, the effect of different mixing ratios on the strength of cement mortar was investigated. The results showed that the effect of grinding fineness on the activity index of cement mortar was not obvious when the activation of tungsten tailing was performed by grinding method. CaO could improve the activity of cement mortar as an activator, of which the activity index reached 67.65%. When the blending amount of the activated tungsten tailings was 20%, the cement mortar met the requirements of PO.42.5, and it could be used for concrete casting.
