Abstract

Abstract

Upon the data of coastal geography, sediment distribution pattern, and hydrodynamic environment of the Sanmen Bay and the Luhuitou Bay in Sanya, combined with the research of coast evolution and hydrodynamic numerical simulation, two artificial sand beaches are made in the Sanmen and Luhuitou bays respectively. In this article, discussed are the general layout of the artificial sand beaches, the properties of nourishment sand and the underwater seawall elevation. Monitoring of the beaches after the program shows that the artificial sand beaches remain stable and the quality of coastal environment is obviously improved.
