Abstract
This paper deals with the Hipap100 high precision acoustic positioning system and its underwater positioning theory. Discussed are the factors effecting the sound broadcasting in water, and the options to reduce the effect. A brief introduction is provided to demonstrate the application of the Hipap100 system to the video recording on seabed. Comparing to the conventional positioning method, the Hipap100 underwater positioning system has obvious advabtages.
