A Comparative Research of the 2D Wavelet Decomposition and the Nvdr-thdr Technology on the Application of the Gravity Potential Field in Taiyuan Basin

  • Gravity potential field is the superposition of many geological bodies with different densities. Because of the thick overburden and complex basement faults in Taiyuan Basin, single potential field information extraction technology cannot meet the target requirements of dividing structural faults and determining the thickness of overburden and the buried depth of bedrock in Taiyuan Basin. In this paper, the information of 1:50000 Bouguer gravity anomaly in Taiyuan Basin is extracted by using wavelet decomposition details power spectra and the NVDR-THDR technology. It is considered that the wavelet decomposition details power spectra technology is helpful to determine the thickness of overburden and the depth of bedrock in Taiyuan Basin, which is concluded that the thickness of central overburden in Taiyuan Basin is more than 3 km. The NVDR-THDR technology can be used to identify the fracture structure of gravity potential field in Taiyuan Basin and to locate the 18 Fault Structures.
