Abstract
Advances of X-ray capillary optics systems have led to rapid developments of micro-X-ray spectrometry in recent years. Developments of micro-X-ray fluorescence spectrometry(Micro-XRF) with X-ray capillary optics were reviewed here, and the factors affecting micro-XRF spectrometer performance discussed. The applications of micro-X-ray fluorescence spectrometry to environments, geology, biology, paleoenvironmental reconstruction and forensic investigations of fingerprint were introduced.
