Application of High-Power Induced Polarization Method on the North Part of the Luodang Deposit in Lala Copper Mining Area

  • The Luodang deposit of the Lala copper mining area is a typical and large open-pit copper polymetallic deposit in Sichuan Province.The working area is located in the north part of the Luodang deposit of the Lala copper mining area. Although the predecessors had used the induced polarization method to carry out the exploration work in the Lala copper mining area,but the exploring effect was always not very well.In order to study the availability ofinduced polarization method in the Lalamining area, the combination exploration method about themiddle-gradient of high-power induced polarization and theinduced polarization sounding has been used in the test work of this deposit, according to the analysis and study of the geological and geophysical characteristic in the area. Through analyzing the plane and sounding abnormal distribution characteristics of induced polarization method, it's found that these IP abnormal is match to the result of geological in general, proving that the exploration of high-power induced polarization method is effective in the LaLa copper mining area. After analyzing and studying the abnormal characteristics of induced polarization method,it's thought that the Lala copper mining area has the characteristics of high polarizability and middle-low resistivity.At last, this paper provides a powerful gist for carrying out the induced polarization method in Lala copper mining area.
