  • A new family Sinonamuropteridae referred to Diaphanopterodea, including 4 genera, 3 subgenera and 9 species, is established from Upper Carboniferous Tupo Formation (corresponds to Namurian B-C) near Xiaheyan Village of Zhongwei County, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region (in the Qilianshan area). This is the first systematical report for the Namurian insects in China. The following 9 species are described: Separatonerva longa sp. nov., Separatonerva qilianshanensis sp. nov., Combonerva granulata sp. nov., Combonerva huangheensis sp. nov., Tectonerva longovata sp. nov., Sinonamuropteris(Brachyonerva) zhongweiensis sp. nov., Sinonamuropteris (Isonerva) rugoverrucosa sp. nov., Sinonamuropteris (Sinonamuropteris) ningxiaensis sp. nov., Sinonamuropteris (Sinonamuropteris) xiaheyanensis sp. nov., and the evolutionary stages of the family are also discussed.
