Abstract
The integration of lithologic assemblage, core, grain size and seismic reflection data on the Jurassic strata in the Sangonghe Formation in the eastern Fukang slope zone,Junggar Basin,Xinjiang has disclosed that the reservoir sandstones dominantly consist of turbidites including grey mudstone, grey medium-to coarse-grained sandstone intercalated with sandstone and conglomerate with low compositional and textural maturity and typical Bouma sequences. The turbidite fans in the study area resulted from the redeposition of the unstable delta front sandy sediments in the slope break zone and deep-water basin, and may be highly prospective for the oil-gas exploration.
