Abstract

Two types of copper deposits are recognized in the Dabaoshan copper mining district in Pengzhou,Sichuan: stratabound and Cu-bearing quartz vein deposits.The stratabound copper deposit should have a volcanic and sedimentary-metamorphic origin while the Cu-bearing quartz vein copper deposit is of hydrothermal filling origin.The delineation of the exploration prospects has been made on the basis of controlling factors and prospecting criteria.
