Resources Situation and Process Research on Potassium Extraction in Typical Sulphate-type Salt Lakes at Home and Abroad

  • Potassium sulphate is an important and high quality potash product, and it is widely used for some significant chlorine avoid economic crops(such as tobacco, watermelon, tea, citrus, grapes etc.). The sulphate-type salt lake is the important resource for extracting potassium sulfate products. In this paper, the resources status of sulphate-type salt lake brine at home and abroad is first reviewed. Then the Great Salt Lake in USA, Atacama Salt Lake in Chile, Lop Nur Salt Lake in Xinjiang and East (West) Taijinail Salt Lake in Qinghai are selected the research objects, the extraction of potassium from sulphate-type salt lake are described in detail. In the end, the extraction of potassium from the brine of sulphate-type salt lake are summarized and the developments of extraction process are prospected.
