Abstract

Abstract

The most popularly used air guns in marine seismic exploration include the BOLT gun produced by Bolt Company of the US, the SLEEVE gun produced by ION Company of the US and the G series of air gun produced by Sercel Company of France. Compared with the other two kinds of air guns, the GⅡ air gun produced by Sercel Company has the advantages of simple structure, small size, large volume range, strong single gun power, good synchronization and small air gun recoil force. This paper introduces some common technical problems, such as the air gun ignition, air leakage, self-excitation and oil injection in multi-channel seismic operation, and their possible solutions, which are convenient, practical, economic and time saving for maintenance.
