GEOLOGICAL HAZARD ASSESSMENT OF LARGE RESERVOIRS IN YILUO RIVER BASIN OF SONGXIAN, HENAN PROVINCE: A Case Study of Luhun Reservoir

  • Reservoir is one of the important research areas for geohazard survey. There are certain hidden dangers of geohazards in the surrounding area of Luhun Reservoir, one of the large reservoirs in Yiluo River Basin. Based on the geohazard survey in Songxian County, combined with the field investigation and DEM data, the evaluation indexes such as slope gradient, slope aspect, rainfall and vegetation coverage are selected, and GIS model is used for the susceptibility, danger and risk assessment of geohazards and zoning of prevention areas in the towns around the main reservoir area. The results show that the very high risk area is 14.7 km2, accounting for 7.24% of the study area; the high-risk area 45.29 km2, accounting for 22.32%; the medium-risk area 99.13 km2, accounting for 48.86%; and the low-risk area 43.75 km2, accounting for 21.56%. The study can provide scientific basis for subsequent disaster prevention and mitigation in the main reservoir area of Luhun Reservoir and its surroundings.
